The Festa dei Ceri, held every year on 15 May in honour of Saint Ubaldo, the patron saint of Gubbio, is one of the city’s most important cultural traditions and a powerful expression of its local identity and intangible cultural heritage.

This video, recorded in 2015, captures moments from the Festa dei Ceri and offers a glimpse into the atmosphere, rituals and strong community participation that characterise the celebration. It documents the traditional carrying of the three Ceri dedicated to Saint Ubaldo, Saint George and Saint Anthony the Abbot through the streets of Gubbio towards the Basilica of Saint Ubaldo on Monte Ingino.
