Learning Together Across Generations – Granada Heritage Lab
Description:
This activity was developed within the Community Participation and Community Mapping Heritage Lab of the #ASenseofEU project in Granada, Spain.
This activity explores how younger and older generations can come together to exchange knowledge, experiences and cultural traditions.
Intergenerational learning plays an important role in safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage. Older generations often possess valuable knowledge about traditional crafts, recipes, celebrations, local stories and community practices, while younger generations can contribute new perspectives and digital skills to help document and share this knowledge.
The activity focuses on identifying opportunities for meaningful exchanges between generations, encouraging participants to consider how cultural knowledge can be transmitted through shared experiences and collaborative activities.
By connecting people of different ages, the activity highlights how intergenerational learning can strengthen community relationships, preserve cultural traditions and contribute to a stronger Sense of Place.
